Samsung Releases New Snapdragon 765G Chipset
More or less the same as Huawei and Apple, where Samsung is also one of the standalone vendors where some of its main components are self-made. Not only the screen, but the embedded chip processor too.
Where the vendor from South Korea has Exynos which is embedded in most of the devices on the market. Although still cooperating with Qualcomm, it is only aimed at certain regions, such as the United States, Europe, and several countries in Asia.
The latest report mentions that Samsung has officially launched its latest chip to rival Snapdragon 765G as a middle class chip with 5G network support . The chip is called Exynos 880 with downlink speeds reaching 2.55 Gbps and uplink to 1.28 Gbps.
Not only that, but the latest SoC from Samsung has also been equipped with E-UTRA Dual Connectivity technology which is able to combine 5G with 4G networks with downlink speeds of 3.55 Gbps and 1.38 Gbps uplinks.
The Exynos 880 comes with an Octa Core CPU consisting of 2 x 2.0 GHz Cortex-A77 cores and 6 x 1.8 GHz Cortex-A55 cores. This chip combines with the Mali-G76 GPU with a special NPU for AI processing needs.
This processor also has support for 64MP resolution cameras or dual cameras up to 20MP resolution. And in the case of video recording, it can support recording capabilities up to 4K at 30fps with encoding and decoding Hight Efficiency Video Coding / HEVC (H.265), H.264, and VP9.
As reported by GizmoChina, although this is a chipset made by Samsung , but the Exynos 880 is actually embedded earlier in the Vivo Y70s which was just released some time ago. But what is clear in the future will also be used on Galaxy A series or M series phones.
